We Did It For Lucy!
On Saturday 17th February the North London Netball League community came together to celebrate the life of their friend, coach and teammate Lucy Nicholls.
Lucy was an inspirational and vibrant member of the netball community. She was a dedicated Coaching Development Officer for England Netball, and also played for Poly Netball Club and formerly Cumberland Netball Club. She touched so many lives with her relentless positivity, even in the face of serious adversity.
Lucy lost her life to lymphoma aged just 27. Her friends, family and teammates were devastated by the sudden loss, and made it their mission to help her legacy live on though netball. The #LetsDoItForLucy campaign raised £4,200 for Lucy's chosen charity - Macmillan Cancer Support, through the help of the North London Netball League clubs and other donations.
The event was a wonderful celebration of Lucy's life, featuring an incredible vegan food stall, a memory board and a moving minute of applause.
Lucy was also passionate about animal welfare and supported the Hillside Animal Sanctuary for which funds are also being raised at her request.
