REGIONAL TALENT FESTIVAL SUNDAY 1ST MAR 09 REDBRIDGE SPORTS CENTRE

On a cloudy Sunday in March, the Region’s most talented players and their coaches descended on Redbridge Sports Centre to participate in the highly anticipated London and South East Region’s Talent Festival.

A massive thank you has to be said to all who attended. It was an extremely successful day with a fantastic turn out of players and coaches. It was a superb celebration of the talent we have in the London and South East Region, and a very appropriate way to end the season. Special thanks must go to Les Jones for her tireless work behind the scenes in arranging the format of the day and producing the schedule. Thanks must also go to the Region’s Competition Group who have devoted their time to organising such a brilliant day.

 It was encouraging to see so many players and coaches in one place. I thoroughly enjoyed walking round the event and watching players and clearly seeing the massive steps they have taken since the beginning of the season. Players rose to the challenge of playing in a variety of positions, showing that each and every county has immense depth within their academies. Seeing such a positive and exciting display of skilful, versatile players is an exciting prospect for the Region. This can only stand them in good stead for their future participation in Netball, and their journey up the Excel Pathway. Recognition must be paid to the County and Satellite Coaches in this respect for their dedication and commitment in a season that has seen many changes.

The Region would be incredibly grateful if all who participated in the event (players and coaches) completed the form and sent it back to me via email. All feedback will be considered, and a thorough evaluation of the day will then commence to ensure that next year’s event can be even better, and guarantee that London and South East are preparing our talented players in the best possible way for the challenges that lay ahead of them on their journey to the top of the sport
